Controls

On desktop, use the Left and Right arrow keys to adjust your launch angle. Hold the Space bar to charge the power meter displayed beside the rocket. The longer you hold, the more thrust your rocket receives upon release. Release the Space bar to launch. Press P at any time to pause or resume the game.

On mobile devices, touch and drag directly on the rocket to set the launch angle. The trajectory preview updates in real time as you drag. Tap and hold the power button in the touch controls area to charge your power meter, then release to launch. The touch controls are designed for comfortable thumb play and respond immediately to input.

Gameplay Mechanics

Once launched, your rocket follows a physics arc determined by the initial velocity, launch angle, gravity, and wind. Gravity constantly pulls the rocket downward, creating a parabolic flight path. The wind indicator at the top of the screen shows the current wind direction and strength as an arrow. Wind pushes the rocket horizontally during flight, meaning you must compensate by adjusting your angle before launching. Mastering wind compensation is essential for the later levels where wind strength increases significantly.

The target platform sits at varying positions on the right side of the screen. Landing in the center of the platform earns 100 points, while touching down on the edges awards 50 points. Missing the platform entirely means you crash and must retry the level. Scattered along potential flight paths are golden stars worth 25 bonus points each. Skilled players can arc their rockets through clusters of stars before landing for maximum scores.

Floating asteroids appear starting from level three onward. These rocky obstacles drift slowly across the screen. If your rocket strikes an asteroid, it triggers a crash explosion and you must retry. Planning your trajectory to thread between asteroids while collecting stars and accounting for wind creates a rich puzzle-like challenge within the arcade format.

Levels and Difficulty Progression

The game features ten handcrafted levels. Early levels place the target platform at moderate distances with no wind and no asteroids, letting you learn the controls and develop a feel for the physics. By level four, wind is introduced with mild strength. Level five adds the first floating asteroids. From level six through ten, platforms are placed at challenging heights and distances, wind grows stronger and can change direction, and asteroid fields become denser. Each level requires you to rethink your approach, making the game progressively more rewarding as your skills develop.

Tips for Getting a High Score

  • Watch the trajectory preview carefully before launching. The dotted line accounts for gravity but not wind, so mentally offset your aim in the direction opposite the wind arrow.
  • Aim for the center of the platform for maximum landing accuracy points. Edge landings still count but award only half the points.
  • Collect stars along your flight path whenever possible. Three stars at 25 points each can add 75 bonus points per level, which adds up significantly over ten levels.
  • Use lower power settings for nearby platforms. Overshooting wastes your attempt and forces a retry. Start with moderate power and adjust upward if needed.
  • On levels with asteroids, trace a path between the gaps before committing to a launch. Sometimes a higher arc that clears the asteroid field is safer than a direct shot.
  • Pay close attention to the wind arrow size. A large arrow indicates strong wind that will dramatically alter your trajectory mid-flight. Compensate generously on these levels.
